Hearing aids can be costly. It’s important to know all of the UC health insurance plans (Medicare and non-Medicare) offer a hearing aid benefit. Although Medicare doesn’t provide coverage for hearing aids, your UC medical plan does. Generally, the initial hearing exam, two hearing aids and routine maintenance/fittings are included. Where to obtain your hearing aids along with the frequency and amount of coverage varies by plan. Make sure to call your plan’s member services number (on the back of your medical ID card) to find out more about the benefits available to you.
