Open Enrollment for Faculty & Staff (Campus/Health)
Thursday, October 31 at 8 a.m. - Friday, November 22, 2024 at 5 P.M.
All changes must be made by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 22
ANY CHANGES MADE DURING OPEN ENROLLMENT ARE EFFECTIVE 1/1/2025
Only benefit that requires re-enrollment at Open Enrollment is the Flexible Spending Accounts; all other benefits will continue unless you take an action to change your plan.
Open Enrollment Plan Highlights/Changes for 2025
Medical Plans
- There are premium increases for all health plans for 2025. It's important to review your premiums every year for any changes.
- CORE will have an employee contribution starting Jan 1, 2025
- UC will fund $2.99 billion of the costs (an increase of $198 million); UC covers 91% - 71% of total cost depending on salary band
- Employees with 2024 annual salaries up to $140K will see 9% premium increases
- Employees with 2024 salaries over $140K will see 11% premium increases

- Employees in Systemwide Bargaining Units may have different premiums. To review your own premiums for 2025, click here for additional instructions.
Additional changes to the medical plans:
- Office visit and urgent care copayments will increase to $30 for UC Blue & Gold, Kaiser, Optum Behavioral Health & UC Care (Tier 1).
- Prescription drug copayments will increase incrementally for UC Blue & Gold, Kaiser, and UC Care across all drug tiers, in addition to a specialty drug tier with 30% coinsurance ($150 maximum/prescription) for UC Blue & Gold and Kaiser.
- Doula services during pregnancy and the postpartum period, at no cost, for up to 11 visits per pregnancy for Kaiser and UC Blue & Gold.
- Kaiser's service area will be expanding to Monterey County beginning January 2025.
**If you are living outside of California, currently your health plan options are: UC Care, UC Health Savings Plan or CORE.**
Non-Medical Plans
Flexible Spending Accounts: administered by WEX
You MUST re-enroll (if currently enrolled) to participate in either plan for 2025.
- Health FSA - health care expenses for you and your eligible dependents
- Dependent Care FSA - dependent care expenses (childcare or eldercare for eligible dependent **Dependent Care contribution limits for 2025 based on income. Details here.**
Dental: UCOP has announced no changes to dental plan coverage for 2025.
Plan enhancements for Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital Indemnity and Legal Insurance for 2025.
Reminders (non-Open Enrollment related benefits):
- Disability & Supplemental Life Insurance are NOT available for enrollment during the Open Enrollment period. More information on how to enroll in these plans can be found here.**

Hospital Inpatient Rounding
Benefits experts will visit all inpatient units and departments to answer Open Enrollment Questions. All night rounds from 5:30pm-9:30pm. Interpreter services available.
